Luleå/Kallax ESPA, preview from package #3
(all pictures are from FS2004)

The terminal at Luleå-Kallax
airport seen at dusk. Part of the complete line system with its smooth
appearance can also be seen here.
This airport, situated far up North on the Gulf of Botnia just outside the city of Luleå. contains two separate parts - the biggest military airbase in Sweden on one side and a passenger terminal served by the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration on the other side of the broad runway. Kallax Airport serves military, passenger and cargo traffic. It is Sweden’s fourth largest airport in terms of annual passenger volume. The runway is for the moment the largest in the country, 10990 feet long, and has recently been rebuilt for a very special project called 'Kallax Cargo Airport'.
"The idea for Kallax Cargo Airport was conceived when viewing a globe. Kallax Cargo Airport opens the Northern Shortcut for flights between Europe and Northeast Asia. Air routes over Russia shorten the journey, while jet streams are weaker near the poles. Compared to conventional air routes, the timesaving per trip via Kallax Cargo Airport can be as much as four hours. Savings can be as much as between 5,000 and 11,000 dollars per hour, depending on the type of aircraft and fuel prices. Shorter flying times also mean reduced emissions and thus significant global environmental gains. On routes between Europe and Northeast Asia, but also to North America and Southeast Asia, Kallax has a very advantageous position for stopovers and refueling. With 29 of the world’s 30 biggest air cargo airports within 10 flying hours, this is where Kallax’s strategic location comes into the picture. Since the distance from North East Asia down to major European centers is just a few more hours, and it is now possible to fly over Russia, Kallax is a very attractive alternative for air cargo carriers." This is in short the reasons for the investment in the cargo project. (The cited text above is from the website of Kallax Cargo Airport - read more about it there: http://www.kallaxcargo.com)
More of the history of this interesting airport can be read in the Airport Handbook that is enclosed in the package.
The scenery covers the non military part in very close detail, where all buildings are included and rendered with sharp photo textures. The military side is for security reasons only schematically done, with only the biggest buildings rendered more symbolically than exact. All the military taxiways are there anyway.
In this package two more airports from the north of Sweden are added. Along the Gulf of Botnia there are ESNU Umeå and ESNN Sundsvall-Härnösand making together an attractive combination of airports to visit.
The package is compatible with FS2004/FS2002.
