Stockholm/Arlanda ESSA - preview (new version 2)

Version 2 of Pack 1 contains a large area of terrain following, hi-res photo surroundings at ESSA-Arlanda - here a picture from the new scenery where the airport is seen from the well known approach to Runway 01L with the highway from Stockholm to Uppsala to the left.

You will find here a series of pictures shot from the new version 2 of the scenery that is included in the Swedflight PRO Pack #1 - (This is not an upgrade from our previous version, but a totally new scenery for all three airports in the package.)

All 3D objects have been remade. All buildings were rephotographed in 2005 to ensure better and sharper photos as base for the photo textures. All terminal additions between the years 2002-2005 are included.

Some of the features in the scenery:

This is a very big airport and therefore we have here excluded some of the least important buildings, otherwise the frame rate figures would be suffering. To get high frame rate with so many objects active in the scenery (over 400 taxi lines with lights, more than 300 signs, more than 45 buildings, over 50 gates with lighting...) we have sacrificed all extra frills like moving objects on the apron and moving bridges. They can be added, but we think it more important to have a scenery that still can be used seriously together with advanced aircraft with complicated panels plus advanced weather, features that also affect the frame rate in the end.

The scenery is the perfect companion to the nearby (within 10 minutes flight time) Stockholm City/Stockholm-Bromma Airport - ESSB (included in Swedflight Pro Pack #2)

For VFR flights especially in the Stockholm Area we recommend R.Taburets Scandinavian Waters add-on as it combined with Pack #2 will give you an unprecedented visual experience of the city’s true beauty.

The scenery is made for FS2004 but can also be run in FS2002 in a simpler version if the photo scenery is inactivated.

The following 12 new pictures from the scenery show the great realism you get from using photo textures. Pictures for those are shot on location both for day and night versions. This is probably one of the few sceneries you can find that uses authentic night textures almost throughout on all surfaces.

The latest gate added at domestic Terminal 4 with the Sky City complex in the background

The left part of Terminal 2 with the more than 80 meter high tower raising to the left

The two domestic terminals 3 (in the front) and 4

One of the post terminals with one of the stands at Apron G in front of it

Terminal 2 at dusk showing the interior thanks to the night textures

Domestic Terminal 4 in evening light

Also the less important buildings get a lot of interesting details when using photo textures

Most surfaces of the buildings are covered with authentic photo textures, also in the night version and even in the Airside parts. Working Docking guidance systems here and at all other gates.

One of the oldest buildings at the airport once used as a terminal. The completely new Apron F in the background.

The stunning glass fronts on the new complex called Arlanda North, in night light

The complete line and sign system found on all surfaces and aprons. Here the crossing between taxiways A and U that shows another hall mark of our sceneries - the smooth lines.

Realistic details everywhere, here a small part of an odd corner and a car park building behind -thanks to the photo textures used.
